Maybe you recognize him from the season finale of Seinfeld. Or perhaps you know him as a regular on the Tonight Show. If you're like me, maybe you had never heard of John Pinette ... until now. Ladies and Gents, allow me to introduce a master of food comedy. Fresh off his stint as the lead in Broadway's 'Hairspray,' Pinette takes to the stage at the Montreal Comedy Festival. The show, titled "I'm Starvin!" is available for instant watch on Netflix. Here's an appetizer of what's in store ...

The American Comedy Awards named John "Stand-Up Comedian of the Year." And it's clear to see why. It's as much a facial routine as it is a verbal. His self-deprecating humor's accompanied by a low smirk, and his jokes are punctuated by a smile that lights up the stage. I found myself wishing I could just hang out with this guy in real life. Genuinely likable and hilarious to boot.

Pinette doesn't rely on profanity or crudeness to get his laughs. His strong convictions that sweets trump salads are ones we can all rally behind. He commiserates with us on the toils of dieting and gym going. And he pokes fun at himself in such an engaging way, my bet's that he'll have you coming back for seconds.

Check out his other food-related comedy bits. From the classic crowd pleaser "Show me the Buffet!" to the more recent one-hour comedy special titled, "Still Hungry." Bon Appetit!
